Drawn to Science Education: Studying Science Teaching and Learning through Drawings
Drawing of science teaching by study participant.

Teacher: Lisa

"Draw yourself teaching science."

Strand 1: Experience excitement, interest and motivation to learn about phenomena in the natural and physical world.

Score = 2

A score of two indicated that there was ambiguity in the facial expressions or thought bubbles in the illustration. In this drawing, the students and teacher worked with terrariums and the teacher suggested students should record their observations. Both the teacher's and students' faces were depicted as straight lines indicating indifference. The statement from the teacher in the comment bubbles does not indicate excitement, interest or motivation. From the evidence in this drawing, we assigned the drawing a score of two.
