"Draw your students learning science."

Strand 5: Participate in scientific activities and learning practices with others, using scientific language and tools.

Score = 2

Students are exploring plants in this example. Scientific language is represented through text in the drawing such as, "leaf," "roots," "stem," and "photosynthesis." The only material represented in the drawing was paper for recording data. We did not consider this a scientific tool. Although students were drawn around the same table, they did not appear to be engaging with one another. Therefore, we only found evidence for scientific language and assigned this drawing a score of two.
